2defective unit, but great promise  Nov 20, 2008 By Sandstone
Pros:
-This light has a wonderfully bright, diffuse, even illumination pattern for MEDIUM DISTANCE work. It would make a great walking light. It is not a long-range projector light.

Cons:
-Unit I had was very moody about turning on, I tried realigning batteries etc. but sometimes it would go on, more often it refused. Returned unit.
-Even though it is of metal construction, it is not of the same quality level as some other flashlights I have, seems a bit cheaply made.
-Unit I received was in a plain white box, no brand name or even country of origin I could find. While this doesn't make it a bad product, I prefer to have some identifying data on a product.

4Finally -- A Full Powered LED Flashlight  Aug 04, 2008 By G. Cox "Shanghaied"
In hindsight, I should have give this flashlight 5 stars. I compared my old standard 2 D cell MagLite to this LED flashlight in a dark room. The 100 LED flashlight fills the room with reasonably even bluish lighting. The MagLite puts out its standard yellow light focused in a fairly concentrated area which drops off dramatically beyond the concentrated circle in the middle. When superimposing the two lights, the LED flashlight completely drowns out the MagLite in all by the concentrated yellow center. Overall, this LED light is far superior to the MagLite. In fairness to MagLite, they are offering a single 3 Watt LED upgrade available here in Amazon. I've ordered the MagLite upgrade, but have yet to receive it. Back to the LED flashlight being reviewed, it appears the barrel was originally designed for two C cells, but they adapted it for four AA cells. The housing of the flashlight is almost like a MagLite in construction, really robust.

4Nice and bright with a solid case  Sep 19, 2008 By nzofyrbz "nunoyobus"
A nice flashlight. Has a good wide angle beam with plenty of light for short to medium range (very bright up to 50ft or so). The battery life is decent, and since it uses 4 AA's you can easily use rechargeable batteries.

The only negative point is the battery tray. It's a plastic container that comes out of the light and holds the 4 AA's. It really could have been done better, or integrated into the flashlight to allow simply dropping the batteries in. As it is, you open the light (a twist off cap), pull out the battery tray, and then fight a bit with it to get the batteries in and out of it (it's spring loaded and a bit on the flimsy side). After that, you slide it back into the light, and put the cap back on. While this is a bit a a nuisance it's not a major issue.

All and all a decent light.

5Bright, compact  Sep 18, 2009 By Shopper "Choosey1"
Better color than another (52)LED unit I purchased...though same brightness with twice as many LEDs. Best features: uses AA batteries v. AAA batteries; on/off button is in typical "thumb" position v. end of shaft. This one is more expensive, but I like it better.

5Great flashlight for the money  Jan 24, 2010 By Dive Dogg
If you are looking for an affordable super bright flashlight, this one fits the bill. I've had mine for over a year now and it is still on the first set of batteries. We use it for walks at night and it is about 3x brighter than a typical flashlight, yet the batteries last much longer. It's also great for projects around the house where I need to shine a bright light in a dark place. All our other flashlights are obsolete now, including a couple of smaller LED flashlights. I think I may try a CREE LED flashlight next!
