| | Description | 5th Anniversary Special (8 pack AA) 2nd Gen 1500 cycle eneloop in Glitter colors SANYO is celebrating the 5th Anniversary of Eneloop by releasing Eneloop glitter, a new limited edition pack of Eneloop in size AA. Just as the classical Eneloop, the Eneloop glitter batteries get pre-charged at the Japanese factory with electric power, which is generated from solar energy. For this reason the batteries are ready to use directly after being purchased. Thanks to its low self discharge Eneloop glitter keeps approximately 75% of its initial charge even after 3 years of storage. Like Eneloop, Eneloop glitter can get recharged up to 1500 times. The batteries are having a nominal voltage of 1,2V and a rating capacity of 2000 mAh. Additionally the limited edition packs include batteries in 8 different glitter colors: purple, pink, orange, yellow, light green, light blue, silver and black, which enables users to pick colors according to their taste or to use colors to remember which batteries are charged and which ones need to be recharged. | |

Excellent Jun 19, 2011
By MsPhotoBug I have the regular white eneloops also. Performance is the same, these colours only assist in identifying those in use in the various devices. Not mentioned anywhere is in addition to the vibrant colours are tiny numbers enclosed by a small square. These eneloops are numbered from 1 to 8. The purple eneloop is number 1 while the black is number 8.

The Efficient and Practical Eneloop Battery, Now in Color. Aug 31, 2011
By W. Cintron At 2000mAh, It's the classic third revision of the normal white cells, wrapped in a colorful, glittery coating instead of the usual white sleeve. If you're looking for the color first and battery second, please note the sleeves are made of the same material as the white and are just as easy to scratch and chip, especially if loaded roughly into tubes for flashlights and small plastic electronics with sharp edges. Otherwise they provide the same normal power, weight, and functionality as the usual.

Same amazing Eneloop quality- with a little bling! Aug 14, 2011
By Miss Mercury My friends made fun of me for buying glitter batteries until they realized how awesome these batteries truly are. I own several of the regular white Eneloop and wanted some more and spotted these limited anniversary editions. Same classic Eneloop excellence- with a little flair!

Great batteries-pretty and useful Jan 03, 2012
By NY Shopper I received these batteries very quickly and am pleased so far. They came precharged, as advertised, and I have had them in my kids' wii remotes (which they use ALL the time) for a week now and they have barely lost any power. As long as they charge well and continue to maintain their charge I think they are worth the price. And the kids love the glittery colors which I find useful in distinguishing them from regular batteries so that they don't get thrown away.
If anything changes I will update my review, until then I am enjoying not having to buy batteries every 3 days.

First cycle capacity comes in low, second comes in on spec Nov 23, 2011

I'm part of the 5-year celebration, so I splurged on a 8-pack with the up-charge for pretty packaging.
Eneloops have been absolutly durable and consistent for me over the past 5 years. Every single one is still in service and working 90% of spec or better.
These came in low on the first recharge & analyze capacity test, but after the second recharge & analyze cycle, all met the 1900 ma*h minimum spec.
The only way they can make these cells better is give them 1.5V nominal voltage so they work in ALL my device. I think we're a few years away from that advancement.
