Cheap diffuser Jul 14, 2011
By Joseph Tremain Color and density is a little different from other variants. Instead of a semi-clear translucence it has a white color to it. Unfortunately, the big (HUGE) drawback of this item is that it does NOT stay on the SB-800 speedlight. It will go on but instantly starts to creep off of the flash. The inside notches do not contact/grip the the grooves on the SB-800. I bought this as a cheap backup to the Nikon brand item and ironically had to use it immediately and was very dissatisfied with it. BTW, it's milky white color does not allow as much light through as the branded item. I ended up using gaffers tape to secure it until my name brand replacement showed up. In this case you really do get what you paid for.
Not perfect, but it works Dec 16, 2010
By RayZ This diffuser does not fit on my SB-80DX. It is slightly too small and it wont "click" onto the speedlight. Basically, it can fall off easily if you don't force it on. After a few times of pushing this diffuser onto the speedlight, it kind of stayed. I was really annoyed with it and was about to return it. But I was too lazy to go through the hassle of returning so eventually I got use to it. So far it's been staying on pretty well. Not perfect, but at least it won't fall off that easily.
