2Okay if you need "conformal" lighting. Won't look like photo.  Sep 10, 2009 By Mike
As F.L. Wilson wrote, you can find a better LED fixture from Lowe's. (Cheaper, brighter, easier to mount, quicker to get up and running.) I bought this to light up an architectural arch, so I needed individual wired modules for flexibility in mounting. (I also bought the C. Crane Co, Inc. STG Do-It-Yourself LED Strip Lighting, Additional 20 LED Strip extender kit to go with.)

Turns out I couldn't use it in the arch. In retrospect, a Neo Neon LED-DL-2W-9FT-W-120V 9' LED Cool White Rope Light would work better.

Anyway, it's not very bright in ambient light. Certainly not as bright or as sharply defined as the C. Crane photo shows in their kitchen shot. (The photo looks more like Zenon or Halogen under cabinet lighting.) I haven't found a use for this LED kit and as F.L. Wilson notes, once you've used the double stick tape to mount them, what do you do if you want to change or move it later?

Try LED rope light first. Cheaper, easier, more uniform lighting.

5easy do it yourself product  May 17, 2008 By Michele Hobson
I used this in my display cabinet ,it was easy to set up(it took about 15 min)and lights everything nicely especially my fire and light glassware. They're great because the light doesn't get hot and I don't feel bad about leaving it on all night because its low voltage and really doesn't affect my electric bill! I think I might get another one to light above my bookshelf for accent light. Definitely something you can do yourself but looks professional. [...]

3Not the best deal  Aug 17, 2008 By F. L. Wilson
I got this package after spending about $25 at the local Lowe's on a single strip light with 22 LED's, which came in an assembly like a florescent fixture that only had to be plugged into 120 VAC (no assembly required at all). This package came with 5 square modules with 4 LED's each, connected by short wires (about 2 - 3 inches long), and included a 12 VDC adapter (wall wart) for about $50.

The mounting method for the strip light from Lowe's was similar to a multi-outlet plug strip (a couple of screws that fit into slots on the back of the strip that you slide the strip onto). If you mount them, and then later decide to move them, no problem at all. These modules used double-sticky tape, which is easy, but woe to those that don't get them in the right place the first time.

Personally, I'd rather have had 2 of the 22 LED strip lights at the same price.

1Dead on Arrival  Sep 04, 2008 By G. Hutcheson
The product is really janky for the price. They say you get 20 lights, but what you really get is 5 bare assemblies with 4 small LED lights on PC Board with soldered ~3 inch wires that attach each together. You even have to attach the Levitron on/off switch yourself and wire it all to the power adapter that looks like a typical one that comes with PC accessories. But the worst was that it didn't work at all and when I called the company's support line, they brushed me off saying I had to deal with Amazon. They won't honor the 30 day return policy in the manual. Fortunately, Amazon made good on it all. I'm getting my money back. Thanks Amazon!
