When it Fails Dont Look for Help! Aug 19, 2009
By Clyde A. Boyd I bought 2 packs of these lights with two lights in each pack (not from this seller). After about 8 months one light completely failed. It failed to charge and was basically worthless at that point. When I e mailed the manufacturer, Capston, they returned an automated email saying "a representative will be contacting you shortly". When I didnt hear from anyone after 5 days I rewrote them with the same information. The same auto reply came back. No one has yet to contact me. Obviously they wanted the sale and nothing more.
Aside from the horrible customer service at Capston the product is the typical over-priced cheap Chinese- made electronic junk. It's a good concept, just be aware when yours fails you can expect that the maker/importer will have no interest in making good on the purchase--even when it is in warranty! Buyer Beware.
I would never buy anything from this manufacturer again. And I dont recommend you do so either.

Convenient but fragile. Nov 26, 2009
By Log Eco-friendly it isn't. Convenient it is. Bright it isn't. So I have mixed feelings about it. I bought it for an emergency light. When the power goes out, I'll have a ready light. So it serves that purpose nicely. On the other hand, the auto nightlight function casts a very, very dim light. It's so dim, that it barely works as a nightlight. You can make it brighter by switching it on continuously, day and night, but of course that wastes energy. That's the only way you'll get enough light to pass as a nightlight. Is that "eco?" Not in my book. How does it work as a regular flashlight? It's a blue, diffuse light that's not all that bright. What about the induction charger? Convenient, but it wastes energy as a charging system. Can't believe it's called "eco." What about durability? Seems cheap and flimsy. Lens looks fragile. I wouldn't want to drop it. In fact, one of the lenses was already cracked out of the package. Like I said, as an emergency light for when the power goes off, it's probably an asset. Don't buy it as a night light or a general purpose flashlight. It is what it is and nothing more.

I loved it until it broke Nov 02, 2009
By nice guy I loved everything about this flashlight - its looks, its light weight and bright light, how handy it was whenever I needed it, and even the way it lit the floor at night. I used it every evening to walk to the office when the rest of the house was asleep. Then I took it along with me while my kids went trick-or-treating and it simply stopped working. (And no, I did not drop it down a flight of stairs.) Unlike a normal flashlight with only one moving part that is easy to fix, this one is hermetically sealed. When I lift it from its base it flashes for one second then goes dark. It is only 6 months old. It is now, like so many things we buy these days, a highly fashionable piece of junk. For those of you who really only need a flashlight when the power goes out, this might be durable enough to get you through the storm, but if you want something reliable, try something else.

Mine works, I just bought another set. Aug 21, 2009
By patrick808 In the interest of fair and balanced reviews, I want to say that I've been using a pair of these that I bought at Sam's Club and they work great. The feature set is outstanding and the quality is the best choice I can find. The stuff you find at home centers or electronics stores don't even come close. I actually go to use the Eco-i-Lite during a power outage. They worked so well, I decided to buy two more.

Fails very quickly Nov 16, 2009
By Silus
"Silus"
Although the product is very stylish and is a good idea, the night light burned out in less than six months.
