Work GREAT as promised, but color of one bottle is not "LIME" Mar 03, 2010

These work just as promised! They are VERY easy to drink from (one-handed operation), they don't leak one drop, and they don't spill when tipped or dropped (just make sure lid is on as tight as it can go). I like how they are dishwasher safe and have a carabiner clip built into the handle.
One minor issue is that the "Lime" bottle is more like a drab olive green (ugly!), but it's not a big deal. The Aqua and Raspberry ones are as pictured. They do make these in other colors as well (just search on Amazon). I kind of thought it was odd how there were no paper instructions included in the box; all of the info was on the outside of the box, and no other details were provided (like "Warning: do not fill with hot liquids"--of this I'm not sure now). Also, the liquid measure marks aren't right (it does take ~750 mL/24 oz, but the 500 mL mark should be where the 16 oz. mark is); of course, unless you're measuring your drink, this isn't an issue (I always fill mine to the top).
Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again, and I just might since my kids are already fighting over who gets to use which one!

These are undoubtedly the best water bottles I've ever owned, and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone for water. However, I would NOT recommend these for powdered drinks. Read the last section for elaboration.
My friend bought this three-pack because it was the most interesting bottle that Costco carried, and when we opened it up, we were surprised to find that it had the Autoseal valves. I have to say that the valves make a world of difference. They dramatically increase convenience and can actually increase the volumetric flow rate of water you can take in. Since it has an intake valve, you can basically "shotgun" the water without worrying about bubbles of air getting in your way. Just don't tip it too far; the intake valve can be quite rude to the overzealous.
The bottle features a measuring label on the side. It opens and closes easily, has a securely nestled rubber o-ring to prevent leaks, and even has a carabineer-like latch built into the top. It's wide enough to latch onto the belt of a shoulder bag. The valve opens and closes effortlessly. For the most part, the bottles are easy to clean as long as you make sure never to store them closed.
There are only two drawbacks to the bottles. One has to do with the o-ring. Don't overtighten the bottle when closing it. When the embossed Contigo logo lines up with the measuring stripe, you're good. If you turn too far, the o-ring will start to bunch up and leak, since it is not fixed to the lid. To fix the bunching, grip the lid with your palm against the top and rapidly twist it back and forth to agitate the o-ring.
-- POWDERED DRINKS --
The other drawback has to do with powdered drinks, especially protein powders. If you shake the bottle and drink from it, some of the liquid will get trapped up in the intake valve. The residue will eventually start to give odors and even grow bacteria, and you'll be able to taste it in the water. If you own this bottle and the water tastes like ice cubes from your freezer, this is why.
Cleaning the intake valve is a real pain, because it's inaccessible and the lid can't be disassembled. Your only choice is to force water through. You can do this with a pump; by turning the bottle upside-down with water inside and blowing into the spout; filling it with hot water or carbonated water, turning it upside-down, and pressing the valve partway to only open the valve; and so on.
To compound the issue, the bottle's shape is slightly tapered at the top, so you'll need either alacrity or a funnel to get all your protein powder in there from the scoop. Take my advice: use this for water and get a wide-top, no-valve BlenderBottle for powdered drinks.

This is by far the best water bottle you will ever purchase. I have had mine for ab 4 months, and just recently purchased three more. I have used the metal bottles in the past, not a fan. Then ahhhhhh i found these. I love that i dont have to take the lid off to drink, it is an auto seal, I can attach it to my messenger bag for school, and if it falls no spills. I cant imagine my life without these bottles, they go everywhere I go! I will be a life long user!! Oh, and they fit in the cup holder in my car.

One would think designing something as simple as a water bottle would be easy, but I've wasted way too much money on water bottles that leaked, cracked, were hard to fill, warped, or clumsy to handle-- when they specifically said they were leakproof, crackproof, etc.
This is an EXCELLENT water bottle! When I bought one I tossed all my other bottles and got more of these. Best one I've ever used.
As some of the reviews say, with its small outlet for drinking this may not be a good option for protein shakes or thicker drinks, but for water, tea, etc. it is perfect.

Everyone in my family loves these bottles. They do not leak, they wash up great. easy to drink out of etc.... I've actually purchased a total of six of these bottles, one has cracked. The one that cracked was dropped on a cement floor and was full of water at the time. I've dropped my other bottles before and thankfully they are all withstanding frequent use.
