Great Batteries! May 10, 2012
By Elaine I've been using Sanyo Eneloop Rechargeable batteries for almost three years, and I notice that a lot of people have problems with the C-spacers and D-spacers. Therefore, I would like to clarify some of the confusions about how these spacers work from my experience.
First of all, there are only two sizes for the batteries, which are AA and AAA. For the size C and D batteries, we would use the C-spacers and D-spacers to fit the AA batteries in the spaces. The AA batteries themselves are already powerful enough to use as size C and D batteries. However, since the size C and D batteries are much larger in size, so we use the spacers just to secure the AA batteries in the right place. For recharging, we would charge them as they are, i.e. AA batteries, so there is no need to use the C-spacers or D-spacers during recharging.
My Sony boombox requires 6 C-batteries to operate, so I slide 6 AA batteries into C-spacers, and then fit them into the battery compartment. Once the batteries are in, the AA batteries are secured, so are the + and - parts of the batteries. Again, the spacers are as what they're called, just to fill in the spaces.
As for the charger, personally, I recommend the Sanyo charger. I purchased the start-up package with AA / AAA batteries, C / D spacers, and a charger. It was about $50.00. You could also start with the basic AA/AAA batteries with charger and build it up...
So far so good! Oct 15, 2011
By Chris B. I bought the 2 AA cell + C adapters to use in a 2C flashlight and so far they are working great. Much better than buying C batteries, or spending the money to get C rechargeable! These batteries appear to be built very well, and I will definitely buy them again. They seem to work as advertised, and I am very happy with them so far!
Eneloops are the best! Sep 24, 2011
By Noname Eneloop are hands down the one to beat in these new hybrid line of batteries. I love that they don't discharge the moment I take them out of the charger. I can charge them and store them and they're ready to go when I need them.
The spacers are great! It means I can charge my AA batteries and use them as C batteries. No more need to buy disposable C batteries. I've used the AA Eneloop batteries with the C spacer in my daughter's toy and it works just like regular C batteries. Wonderful.

Good batteries, badly designed adapters Jul 02, 2011

The batteries in this product seem to work as advertised. I have the La Crosse Technology BC-9009 AlphaPower Battery Charger and the adapter shells that come with the charger are just awesome. The AA batteries fit very well inside them and when I ordered this product, I was expecting the shells to be on par with the La Crosse ones. Boy am I disappointed!! The shells don't really enclose the AA batteries, especially the negative terminals are left hanging freely. Good luck trying to make the contacts touch the + and - of the batteries! Given that the shells cost as much as the batteries themselves, I cannot really give this product more than 2 stars.

the c-spacers are a very disappointing product Apr 03, 2012
By jimmygoroar i've used eneloop batteries for years now and love them. however i've only ever had a use for AA or AAA sizes. enter my newborn ;) my intention was to buy some c-sized eneloops for all the kids toys, swings, etc., only to find out that they don't offer a c-size option. so i figured i'd give this a try, having always been happy with the other eneloop products.
the c-spacers are junk. one of the cheapest, least thought out plastic made products i've seen in a long time. i definitely expected better, hence me returning them. the AA battery slides into the hollow plastic shell, yet there is nothing to hold the battery in place on either end, so it just slides in and out top and bottom. not to mention the AA is about a 1/4" longer than the c-spacer. and the "support" pieces in the spacer (only on the top end) aren't strong enough to hold the battery steady due to the lack of support on the bottom end.
just ordered a case of 12 kodak c-sized batteries for $6. i love my eneloops but don't waste your money here!
